1. Is it safe to use air disinfectant around you?
Air disinfectants contain different active ingredients but ones that use a combination of natural ingredients and ethanol are considered safe. But be careful not to use it near flammable substances and store away in a cool, dry place. You can use a surface + air disinfectant for better all-round protection.
2. How many times in a day should we use a disinfectant?
Did you know most disinfectants become ineffective as soon as you touch an infected surface? Surfaces need to be disinfected frequently depending upon the severity of a possible infection. A minimum of 2-3 times a day is required along with thorough cleaning to maintain an infection-free environment.
3. What all surfaces can I clean with the disinfectant spray?
Frequently used items can have a lot of bacteria and even viruses and can transmit through touch if not disinfected on time. You can use disinfectant sprays on surfaces such as door knobs, handles, kitchen counters, switches and even furniture. Did you know disinfectant sprays are good even on soft surfaces such as furniture & cushions as they seep-in, disinfect and evaporate? Although please take caution not to use near flammable sources such as stoves. Please refer to instructions on packaging for more details.
4. Can I use disinfectant sprays on fruits and vegetables?
No. Do not use disinfectant sprays directly on edible material as they contain chemicals that are not meant to be consumed. Please use disinfectant spray as directed on the packaging only. There are separate vegetable and fruit washes available with that have food-grade ingredients that sanitize your fruits and vegetables of germs, viruses and bacteria. Do take advantage of them.
5. Is benzalkonium chloride safe to use for sanitizing and disinfecting?
While there are many types of sanitizers available, Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC) is a clinically approved ingredient that works just as well as alcohol-based sanitizers, without the side-effect of dry skin. The uses of BKC are widespread and have been tested under various conditions to have positive results.
6. Are disinfectant sprays waterproof?
Most disinfectant sprays are water soluble. Long lasting disinfectants contain ingredients that create a fine layer that continuously protects even in contact with a contaminated surface. It comes off with frequent usage/washing over time.
7. Will the disinfectant spray react with the paint on the metal/wood surfaces?
Most disinfectant sprays have instructions about what surfaces to use on the packaging itself. There can be restrictions depending on the ingredients of the disinfectant spray. To be on the safer side, you can use a patch test
8. Can I spray disinfectant on delivery parcels?
Yes you can if the parcel is sealed. Spray uniformly, let it air dry and clean off the excess. Also disinfect the scissors while opening the parcel. Did you know while knives are cleaned frequently, scissors can be a source of contamination and infection in your household?
9. Is it safe to have direct contact of an air disinfectant with skin?
It is better to avoid the disinfectant spray having direct contact with skin. While there are non-toxic disinfectant sprays available that use natural extracts and mild chemicals, there is a possibility of an allergic reaction. If under direct contact, please wash thoroughly with water. If there is a reaction, consult your physician immediately
10. Is it safe to use the wipes/disinfectant spray on kitchen surfaces?
The kitchen counter can become a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses unless cleaned frequently. Dr Rhäzēs Disinfectant wipes are effective on kitchen surfaces, but this might not be true for other surfaces.
